
Mariam is an environmentalist by profession with over 5 years project management experience in energy, climate change and environmental projects, with a Bsc. Environmental Science from Egerton University and currently pursuing a masters in Climate change and Sustainability at Kenyatta University.
Previously, Mariam worked at Sustainable Energy Access Forum-Kenya (SEAF-K) as the national coordinator in charge of policy and advocacy; membership and communication as well as supporting in the resource mobilization.
Prio to joining SEAF-K, she worked at Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) where she coordinated capacity development projects in climate change and sustainable natural resource management in Eastern, Central, Southern and Horn of Africa. Mariam is a certified trainer of trainer and certified in scientific communication and publishing.
She has substantial administrative experience with additional skills in communication, project planning and implementation. Ms. Philomena is a certified PRINCE-2 practitioner.
Prior to joining CCAK, Philomena worked at NEXO IT Services India Private Limited, Via-Phone Business Solutions and WAT Tech Services in India as an operations manager. She worked at Ministry of Public Service Youth and Gender Affairs-State Department of Gender Affairs as an administrative assistant intern.
At CCAK, she has understood the necessary legal and regulatory documents and ensures adherence to the existing policies and procedures. She develops operating plans and objectives commensurate with organizational goals and ensures regulations are understood and implemented. This has enabled promote efficient workflow and controlled internal environment through policy adherence and adaptation. While out of office Ms. Philomena likes exercising and healthcare, cooking and baking!
in accounting and finance in both in the public and private sector. He is an outgoing and detail oriented with proficiency in building and maintaining professional relationship. He has a track record of achieving targets in timely preparation and presentation of financial reports.
Benjamin is a certified CPA (5) and PRINCE-2 Foundation Professional. Prior to joining CCAK, he worked as business Sales officer at Chase Bank Kenya LTD, where he was in charge of designing and implementing of the strategic and business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence, he also managed sales team by ensuring that they achieve and hit the sales target by successfully. He has considerable experience in project finance & accounting, grant management and payroll management.
At CCAK, he is currently the head of the finance and accounts departments
having worked with international organizations in his previous roles on evidence based climate action planning and at national and sub national level on sector based interventions in mitigation and adaptation to strengthen resilience of institutions and communities.
Phillip enjoys engaging with a rich mix of stakeholders in programs ranging from greenhouse gas emissions estimation for different sectors covered under the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Climate Action Planning and implementation, Policy development and advocacy, Air Quality programs, Nature Based Solutions and Conservation initiatives, community adaptation projects, training and capacity building programs, climate change innovations, monitoring and reporting as well as knowledge exchange and publications. He has led in developing the inaugural Climate Action Plan and Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the City of Nairobi and dynamic climate related projects at national level including the Gender Mainstreaming Action Plan in environment, The national climate change action plan, Nairobi’s Air Quality Policy and several related policy and regulatory strategies and plans.
He is passionate about innovation and technology in solving complex climate change challenges, dynamic approaches in planning with keen interest in strengthening inclusion and equity for vulnerable groups to build their adaptive capacity, empower teams and institutions towards enhancing resilience and improving well-being and livelihoods of citizens.
In his spare time Phillip enjoys nature walks, community greening activities, youth mentorship programs, reading and active sports.

Before joining CCAK, Brian worked at Standard Media Group as an online sub-editor and social media manager. He also worked at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation as a technical operator for news and TV program productions under the Public Service Commission.
At CCAK, he has assumed duties as a communications officer. He coordinates membership meetings and develops necessary communications materials among other communications duties. While outside the office, Mr. Brian is a football analyst and fan.
